Situation and Investment Advantage
Targovishte region is situated in the north-eastern
part of Bulgaria and borders on the regions of Shumen, Razgrad, Ruse, Veliko
Tarnovo and Sliven. It occupies an area of 2,732.1 sq.km, which is 2.3% of the
country’s territory.
The region comprises five municipalities:

The city of Targovishte is the regional administrative centre. Its proximity to
the major ports of entry into Bulgaria- Varna (130 km away) and Ruse (100 km
away)- makes the territory of the region a strategic crossing point. There is a
convenient link to South Bulgaria via the Balkan Mountain Pass Kotel.
